Some of the pretty things I get to look at every day at the motel.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." -Jeremiah 29:11

I Want To Ride My Bicycle - Parts II & III
Over the last 2 weeks we were lucky enough to have 2 more long distance bicyclists stay with us. One was biking from Seattle to Boston. He averaged 100 miles a day and on the day he stopped in to stay with us he had ridden 170 miles. I hate riding that long in a car. The second one was riding from one end of Canada to the other. This time I was not here to meet them so I did not get as much information as I did the other. I also missed out on taking pictures of their bike set-ups.
You Have To Go South To Go Up North. Figure That One Out.
Growing up in the southern half of Minnesota all summer you hear people say they are going "up north" for the weekend. As a kid I always wondered where do the people who live up north go on the weekend. Farther north? Canada?
Well, now I know. We go south. This summer we have had 3 camping trips taken already and about 3 or 4 more planned. All of them have or will take us south. Being this far north pretty much the next major destination is Winnipeg, Canada. Maybe next year we will have to get our passports and head "up north".
Happy Belated Birthday

I'm Still Here
I have been a bit MIA lately. The first week in June we officially came into the busy season. The lawn chairs are out, the community grill is set up out back, and our rooms are filled with workers who are so awesome. It is so fun to get to know these guys that are, in some cases, staying with us for months. Some of them are from Minnesota, some are from Southern Illinois. They are the coolest, most layed back people and it is so fun to get to know them and be able to provide them with a nice, clean, comfy room and maybe a little pleasant conversation after a long day of work. It is also nice for me, being the talkative, social butterfly that I am, to have people to talk to on occasion.
